Know Your Options
Bite-Free Backyard will spray your outdoor living areas including trees, shrubs and foliage. Our unique spray formula kills all mosquitoes and their eggs that are present at the time of application and creates a protective barrier for weeks. The treatment takes approximately 20-30 minutes and there is no need for you to be home. We deliver your treatment and leave a note informing you that your home is protected, as well as the next scheduled date of service. The spray is odorless & transparent. The treated areas can be used as soon as the spray is dried, typically within 30 minutes. Most importantly, our product is safe for kids and pets, and it won't harm your plants.
21 Day Barrier Spray Treatment
Our EPA Certified barrier spray consists of pyrethrins and pyrethroids that are derived from chrysanthemum flowers. Pyrethroids are used in many commercial products, such as household insecticides, pet shampoos and sprays, and even children's lice shampoos. It is also used on most fruit and produce in the agricultural industry. We spray this chemical on shrubs, low lying trees, and mulch beds, where it bonds to the foliage of the plants and controls any mosquitoes that come in contact with the leaves. We reapply every 21 days to take the bite out of your entire summer.
The single most effective way to reduce blacklegged (deer) ticks in your yard is by insecticide applications that are applied mainly to the yard perimeter, shady perennial beds or along trails and paths in the woods. Perimeter spray treatments are eco-friendly by limiting the amount of pesticides being applied and targeting the areas where people and pets most frequently come into contact with deer ticks. The chemicals used today for tick control are much less toxic than in the past and are used in very low concentrations. Additionally, permethrin does not leach through soil. Bite-Free Backyard has the right chemicals, equipment and knowledge to effectively help control ticks in your yard.
Fleas are parasites that feed on humans and other warm blooded animals. When you have a flea problem, you and your pets serve as the host. A flea can jump 7 to 8 inches vertically and 14 to 16 inches horizontally. A skin reaction to a flea bite appears as a slightly raised and red itchy spot. There are several types of fleas, but the most common is the cat flea which also feeds on dogs and humans. Fleas are attracted to body heat, movement, and exhaled carbon dioxide. Bite-Free Backyard is able to spray your yard directly to help decrease the amount of fleas on your property. When used in conjunction with the barrier treatments, the flea presence is drastically reduced.
There are many exterminators in the market but most are not equipped to control mosquitoes, fleas and ticks. Here at Bite-Free Backyard, that is all we do. Our equipment is specially made to combat mosquitoes, fleas and ticks by applying a barrier spray to all the shrubs and trees on your property.
Mosquito fogging is popular with cities and towns for quick knockdown of any flying mosquitoes. Residential fogging is also done by homeowners with little success. As soon as the wind blows the fog away, the protection is gone. Any fogging done during the evenings will do nothing to the mosquito caring the Zika Virus due to the fact that it is a daytime biter. At Bite-Free Backyard, we apply a mist to your shrubs and trees to create a bite-free barrier around your outdoor living space for 21 days.
Mosquito repellent such as DEET has long been the “go to” chemical for mosquito control. But DEET is only a repellent and does not kill the mosquito. It also only lasts a relatively short time before needing to re-apply to the skin. Although DEET is considered safe when used according to the label, some people have had adverse effects from repeated use. By having Bite-Free Backyard spray the shrubs and trees around your outdoor living area, you can enjoy the space without needing to apply repellents to your skin.
Mosquito Misting Systems
Mosquito Misting Systems are becoming widely scrutinized because of the lack of studies to document their effectiveness in controlling mosquitoes or other yard and garden pests. They have not been scientifically proven to control or prevent the spread of West Nile Virus or other diseases. They are set up to spray on timers every day resulting in large amounts of unnecessary pesticides being introduced into your backyard. Another negative about the misting system is that they are unable to spray all the plants effectively. Our professionally trained applicators use top of the line equipment to reach all areas to ensure better quality coverage. With Bite-Free Backyard, we design a program specifically for your yard and treat only what needs treated. There is no need to spray every day thus eliminating the over application of pesticides in your yard. Our synthetic spray is a 21-day rotation.
Looking for a One-Time Treatment?
We will apply our Barrier Spray to your outdoor event area approximately 1 to 3 days in advance. The Barrier Spray will have an immediate knock down effect on all insects and the dried spray will ensure residual protection by killing any insect that lands on a treated surface. The spray is odorless & transparent. The treated areas can be used as soon as the spray is dried, typically within 30 minutes.
